Zach is . . .

Zach is such a wonderful and sweet little boy! I can't believe how much joy he has brought into our lives. It has been a long time since I have posted and I have a ton of pictures, so here a a few highlights that tell a little bit about what Zach is (From bottom to top)
Zach is a goos little sleeper! I love when he sleeps like this with his knees tucked in and his bum in the air, so so cute!
Zach is a member of our family. Here are only a very few of the many, many family member that love him so much. This is a picture of the "Rays" Zachary Ray, Casey Ray (Dad), Gary Ray (Grandpa), and Derae (Grandpa).
Zach is also a BYU fan. He LOVES to go to games and has been to two of the football games this season. This picture was of the first home game of the year, it was a beautiful day for a game (it is just too bad that BYU lost). He also went with us to the BYU San Diego game in San Diego.
He is a nature lover! Zach also loves to be outside. He will now sit and the door and cry when he wants to go outside, I am just going to have a hard time explaining snow and cold weather to him. Not only does Zach love to play outside but he likes to go for hikes and the way he goes hiking is the best way (in the Zach pack as we call it).
Zach is a future computer hacker. He loves the computer playing on the keyboard and watching Silly Songs With Larry on YouTube.
Zach is also getting to be such a big boy and got his first haircut.
Zach is a cousin. We went to a place called Riley's Farm in California. Here he is getting a ride with his cousins Addison and Carson.
Zach is a farmer. Okay, so he may not be a farmer or even able to drive but he does love to play with steering wheels.
Zach is his daddy's little boy! He we are at the San Diego Zoo. We went to San Diego early to check out the zoo before heading to the BYU game.
Zach is a cutie bug. Another picture if the zoo with his cousin Jaxson.
Zach is a musician. He loves to listen to music and make his own.

Zach's Birthday

Yes, Zach's birthday was two months ago today but I just realized that I never posted any pictures. I took a ton but here are just a few. Zach's party was a great time with family! He had all four of his grandparents, four great-grandparents, one Aunt and two Uncles (And of course his parents) What a lucky boy!

It's Almost Done

Even though he is super busy with work and school Casey agreed to repaint Zach's room over Labor Day weekend. I can't believe how good it turned out! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I still need to hang some things up in his room, but here are the pictures of the fabulous paint job.

Fun at the Park

Most of these pictures are self explanatory. However the one of the top is of Zach sleeping as we were walking back from the park.

Just a few of Zach's friends

Here are a few pictures of Zach with some of his friends. The very top picture was from Zach's party I had with my weekly play group, as part of the day we made little paint foot prints. The other two are from today. My friend Angela invited Zach over to make cardboard pizza with her girls and another friends little boy. The picture at the bottom is of Zach's friend Mia. They like to hold hands when her mom and I take them in their strollers with us as part of our walking group.

Orem Summerfest

Here are some pictures from June. Most of them are from Summerfest (Orem's yearly celebration). It was crazy weather and we had a mircoburst and TONS of rain shortly before the parade. This year I guess it didn't pay to put out blankets a week in advance becuase they were all soaking wet and blown all over. This did make it nice for people like us who hope we can get a spot along the parade route. Zach LOVED the parade in one picture he is looking down the parade route waiting for the motorcycle police to come back.

Updates

I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted! I guess there hasn't been a ton going on. Zach did have his appointment with the cardiologist today. He has a heart murmur so we were going to get it checked out. We found out he has Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), or a hole in his heart. This is not nearly as bad as it sounds. Right now he is thriving, gaining wieght and growing as he should. All he needs to do for now it to see the cardiologist once a year. Usually holes heal themselves before the age of 15. The hole in his heart is very small, and becuase of its size surgery is not performed becuase the risks are much higher to have the surgery then if nothing is done. Here are some pictures unrelated to the post but really cute pictures of Zach.
Top picture: Zach being cute (I think that this is my new favorite picture of Zach)
Next picture: Helping Dad unwrap birthday presents. Happy Birthday Casey!!!
Next picture: Bad hair day? Who me?
Bottom picture: Zach, Me and the Broderick's dog Toby

Nice Weather

It is so nice to be able to get out and enjoy being outside with Zach! He loves to be outside and look at all there is to look at. Casey was able to buy a backpack from a coworker so we thought we would try it on an easy trail to make sure Zach liked it before we went for a real hike. We went up the Provo River Trail and had a picnic and Zach loved it! He was so interested in everything around him. The picture above the backpack ones is to show off Zach's teeth. He has had them for awhile but they were hard to see. He now has four teeth. The last picture is at the Scera Park. For those of you who live in Orem you really should visit the park! It is a very nice big park with lots of big pretty trees. In the picture above Zach is enjoying some bubbles.

Take My Picture Please

Most of us don't really like having our picture, and in fact may go out of our way so that it is not taken, but not Zach. As you can see he will give anyone who will take his picture a big cheesy grin.

St. George

Last weekend we headed to St. George and had a blast! Zach finally got the opportunity to play in the water outside. All we heard the week before was about the storm that would for sure hit southern Utah, no way around it St. George was getting rain. Well, I guess weathermen can't always be right because it was beautiful weather! Grandma and Grandpa got Zach his very own pool that he was able to try out in there backyard. Grandpa also gave Zach some instruction on how to work the remote (after all you can't be outside all of the time). We also went to downtown St. George where they have a great place to play in the water. As you can see Zach LOVED it, he played and played until he wore himself out. I forgot to bring a towel so Casey and Grandpa got to carry around a wet baby while we walked around a car show. Finally for Sunday dinner Zach got to try out some potatoes. I don't know if he actually ate any but he had a great time playing in them.
