Zach loves his friend Eliza he talks about her all the time and it is always nice to have her (and her mom) over. We also get to have Nixon or as Zach calls him "Nicken" over once a week. Both Zach and Alice love getting in some cousin time.
This Christmas I was so excited because we were able to go and get a real Christmas tree. I remember as a little girl always having a real Christmas tree, and now we have a perfect place to put a tree in our new home. Of course Christmas would not be complete without visiting Santa. Zach was WAY excited to see him! He ran up and jumped onto his lap. Alice on the other hand wanted nothing to do with Santa. We went to the Shops at Riverwoods to see Santa it was a little cold but a great place to visit with Santa. We also were able to take a carriage ride around the shops to look at the lights. Zach took his sister for a ride on a Harley (a much better activity than visiting Santa in Alice's mind)
This year we decided to do a pie night. A simple and wonderful idea. You have thanksgiving pies the night before thanksgiving (so you are not already totally stuffed). Of course there was also plenty to eat on Thanksgiving as well (and if I remember right the day after Thanksgiving as well). We were so blessed this year to have so much family over. It was wonderful! The only thing that would have made it better is if my other sister and her family were there with us. But I guess you can't have it all. But we were glad that my parents and my sister Nicki and her family could be with us in our new home.
