Thank Heaven for Wonderful Husbands and Sweet Babies

I honestly can"t believe I am posting about this but since most of you will know anyway I might as well. Now that I am a stay at home mom I really try to save money where I can. So last night I thought I would trim my bangs. No big deal I have done it once before and it wasn't all that hard. Well, this time was different. My bangs were uneven and kept getting shorter and shorter. Well now they are mostly even and short. I normally don't get to upset about my hair but last night I was not very happy. I thought I might as well have tattooed dork on my forehead. I vowed to wear a hat anytime I went outside and most of the time when I was inside. I could not help but be a little vain and think of all the parities and pictures that would be taken soon. There I would be with my too short bangs. This way everyone could see I was a dork and have pictures to remember it forever. First thing today I was set and ready yo go buy a new hat. I figured that I would need a new one since I was going to be wearing one all the time. Well, I woke up and it was snowing and continued to snow through the afternoon. This only delayed my hat buying need, I was still determined to go and get a new hat. In the meantime I put Zach down for a nap and began to work on my lesson for Sunday. The young wommens presidency decided to have the advisors do a Christmas lesson rather than one from the manual. I wanted to focus my lesson on the real meaning and importance of Christmas. This got me thinking. Before I could even get half way done Zach woke up and was crying and I went to go get him. As I looked at him in his crib he immediately stopped crying, smiled and got really excited to see me as he always does. It made he stop and think of the importance of not only Christmas but life in general. Zach doesn't even know his mom looks silly he just loves me for who I am. Last night Casey kept telling me it wasn't a big deal and he loved me and thought that I still looked beautiful that my bangs were just a little shorter. As I thought about this it made me so grateful for all that I have. I have the gospel in my life that allows me to be with my wonderful husband and sweet baby forever. I still may be wearing a hat the next time that you see me but now when I look at myself in the mirror I see soemthing diffrent. I don't see "I am a dork" tatooed on my forehead I am simply reminded that my family loves me even when I do silly things, and that there are much more important things than bangs, the way you look, presents or so many of the other things that we get wrapped up in. I am so very grateful for the blessings in my life and this time of year that I have to remember the birth of my Savior.

Thanksgiving Fun

Christmas couldn't be complete without a visit to Santa. Santa will defiantly be coming to our house because Zach has been good all year.
The last night we were there we went out to the Tuacahn. In December they put on a live Nativity/play. The grounds we also had a bunch of lights. They have an amazing theater out there I recommended anyone who can make it to St. George to check it out
Zach with Aunt Kim and Uncle Scott.
Zach with Great Grandma Johnson on Thanksgiving.

I think that this was the first time any of us saw Sadie smile. Who would have thought that being buried could me so much fun. It was so cute she loved it and whenever there was a hole being dug she would try and climb into it.
Me, Brooklyn and Zach
Here a pictures from a hike in Snow Canyon. No worries no snow the weather was great! Above is Casey with Ty.
For Thanksgiving our family headed to sunny St. George. All of my dad's side of the family meet there for the occasion. Our family had a great time and Zach loved meeting family members. Above is a picture of Zach sleeping in his baby carrier. There is a great park near my parents house, while his cousins enjoyed playing on the playground equipment Zach decided to take a nap. He looked as though he was really enjoying soaking up the sun.

I can't believe how much Zach has grown!

Although it has only been a little over two months Zach has grown a ton! If there are any doubts all I have to do it look at pictures from only two months ago.

Zach's Blessing

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson came up for the weekend of Zach's blessing.

Zach was blessed on November 2 by his dad. It was great to have a bunch of family there to support us! Here are some pictures of him in his blessing outfit (thanks to cousin Tyler for letting Zach borrow his).

Snow

Zach got to see snow for his first time today. I am sure that it will melt off by later this afternoon but this morning there were lots of big snowflakes falling. We are supposed to get more snow this weekend so we will see what happens later this week.

Halloween

Our finished pumpkins

On Thursday after Zach went to bed Casey and I stayed up to carve pumpkins. On Halloween we went over to Grandma Broderick's (Casey's grandma) house and had the traditional chili and homemade spudnuts.

Here are pictures from our wards Halloween party. I made Zach's costume and then some friends from our ward let Casey and I use there pirate costumes. As you can tell by the end of the night Zach had enough Halloween fun and fell asleep in Casey's arms.

Tagged -- Flashback

Nicki tagged me and I was supposed to choose the sixth photo from the sixth folder in my "My Pictures" file. This is it. This is a picture from Spring Break of 2007. The photo directly above is the sixth picture and it is a picture of rocks. Why this is special or unique I don't really know. I do know that is was taken somewhere near Goblin Valley because of the photos that were by it. I also included a the fifth picture (the one on top) because I thought it was a little more exciting. We are standing by a cool looking dead tree. We are about to take a hike where we will see some really cool rocks.

Zach at 2 months

Here is a picture of Zach hanging out watching some TV with his dad. On Tuesday Zach went in for his 2 month visit. He now weights 10 lbs. 15 oz. and is 23 1/2 inches long. Poor little guy had to get a bunch of shots although there was a while where he didn't feel very well he recovered quickly and is now back to his sweet happy self.

Tyson and Jenn Visit Utah

Tyson, Jenn and family were able to come out for a visit from California. This was Zach's first chance to be able to meet some of his cousins. Here Grandma Broderick is holding 3 of her 4 grandchildren. From left Carson, Zach and Addison.

Zach in his new pants

I made these pants for Broderick family photos. Here is a picture of Casey holding Zach while waiting for pictures to be taken.

Sewing Craze

There is something about having someone so cute to sew for that has made me want to go a little sew crazy. Lately I have had a lot of fun making things for Zach. The great thing is that things don't have to fit him perfect and they still work. This is the first thing that I have made for Zach. I made my own pattern and everything. It really was a lot of fun! There are more projects to come so I will keep posting pictures.

Zach at 4 weeks

Sorry the one picture is sideways I still can't figure out how to rotate pictures. Is there a way? Anyway, just thought I would include some more pictures of Zach. He is growing fast and is starting to fit into 0-3 month clothing, he can now wear some of the cute outfits I was given. He is definitely a growing boy and now weights almost 9 lbs!

Future in sports?

Zach loves to move around and is a very active baby. Here are some silly pictures we happen to take while trying to get a picture for his birth announcement. Casey and I just can't decide if Zach wants to go into boxing or karate.

Under the Lights

As many of you know Zach had jaundice when he was born. For treatment he had to spend about 36 hours under these lights. We could only take him out to feed and change him. I don't know who this was harder for Zach or Casey and me. Zach cried for the first 12 hours under the light (this was from about 5pm to 5 am so Casey and I took turns sitting by him and trying the best we could to comfort him.
Here is one of Zach's first pictures. He was born on August 21,2008 at 11:00 pm. He was 20 inches in length and weighed 6lbs 5oz.
