Hiking the Grotto Trail

Some things we have been up to this summer

Of course Alice would never eat a cupcake before she was one . . . okay maybe just a bite. We also visited the zoo and went to the Brazilian festival. Zach has been stung by a wasp twice this summer. The most recent time it was in his ear. The stinger went all the way through his ear ouch!

Zach Turns Three

For Zach's birthday we went tubing during the day and then had a barbecue and cake and ice cream. Zach LOVES trains right now so I made him a train for the top of his cake. If you watch the video and listen carefully you can hear Zach singing to himself.

St. George

Zach got to celebrate his birthday early when we went to St. George. We went down for the Washington County fair (and of course to see Grandma and Grandpa). We went to the parade which was the best parade of the summer by far! As we were waiting for the parade to start Zach was talking to a boy who was about 9 years old. The boy looked at me and asked with a lisp "What language is he speaking?" I had a hard time not laughing. We also went to a demolition derby. Zach was in heaven!! He makes the best car noises and he started to make them as soon as all the derby cars started. He was so into it he was shaking and his face was tuning red. The people in front of us even asked if he was okay. He was of course he was just REALLY REALLY excited. He also decided that the only way a demolition derby could be anymore fun was if he could sit on the lap of the cute blond girl in front of us (she was in her early twenties). Of course he had been telling her and anyone else near us who would listen all about the derby. She was nice and let Zach come and watch the derby with her.

F.H.E. at Bridal Veil Falls

Zach wasted no time wading in the freezing cold water. He also loved to throw rocks in the water.

Family reunions Powell and Joseph

On our way to Lake Powell Zach was put in jail for driving his wagon too fast through town :) After we got to Powell it was a dream come true for Zach he was able to swim and boat all day. I could not believe that kid can just go and go. Alice was a trooper and was still sweet even when she would miss naps. On our way to the family reunion in Joseph Zach fell asleep in the car but only after putting his blanket over his head. We had a great time in Joseph hanging out with family and the best part was everyone loves our kids and would actually fight over who got to play with them :)

Boating

Tyson, Jenn and kids came out for the fourth. It was great for Zach to get lots of cousin time. Although Zach may not be a huge fan of his sister she is adored by her cousins.

4th of July

Just a little behind again :) Here are some of the things we did on the Fourth of July weekend. We got up early to watch the hot air balloons. It was really neat to be right there where they were getting all the balloons ready. Casey and I went to the Stadium of Fire to see Brad Paisley. It was such a fun concert! We also went to the Provo parade. Casey is such a good guy because he got there by 5 to save us seats. Thanks Casey you are amazing!
